Sadly the last time that Cliff Edwards sang When You Wish Upon A Star on record for in my opinion, this is when poor Cliff's health started failing. Just to be curious though, why did Golden Record label replace the lyrics "Fate is kind, she brings to those who love, the sweet fulfillment of their secret longing?"

I had no idea the lyrics and commentary were part of the album - I only had these as tapes as a kid. They were my true intoduction to both history and folk music, and I shall never forget them.

OMG this song got stuck in my brain "hahaha you're saggy baggy.../but for an elephant you look just right"; my little sister used to have this way back in the early 60s and I was thinking about her and this dang song popped up unbidden. thank you for posting it and saving my sanity.
